Scratch will then begin to install in the destination you choose. The default value, "Scratch", is recommended. Click Next again and choose what you want its name to be when you look for it in the start menu. Click "Next" where you will then chose where you want Scratch to store its files to run. Next, double click the installer in its folder. If students are working on projects over multiple days, it may be helpful to have students save their projects to their local machines in case the online editor is not available during subsequent classes. This will download the installer into your downloads folder. Two versions of the Scratch offline editor are available for download: Version 2 and Version 1.4. Scratch 1.4 should also work in Windows 10, but if there are problems, the compatibility mode feature can be used. To download Scratch 1.4, first go to the Scratch 1.4 download page.
